Dear Mrs.Boutilier,
My project is the senior documentary of everyone’s capstone projects. This project is the display of what everyone in the class of 2022 has done for their projects for community service. I decided to do this because I thought it would be really fun to put together everyone's projects for people to see what we as a community at SMSA have done for the general public or the school itself. I have been working on this project since October of 2021 setting the foundation. I, however, did not think of this project alone. I had no idea what I wanted to do for capstone so I had asked the capstone director, Amy Boutilier, to help me find one. After a while a suggestion came up to do the senior capstone documentary. I edit videos as a hobby and have experience in editing professional videos as well. That's how my capstone came to be.
My research's main goal is to show how the elements of videography are used to inspire. It’s also an opportunity for the students to be able to show off their hard work while giving future seniors a base to go off on. The whole point of this theme is for it to be inspirational. Showcasing how students have overcome this virus that has posed a lot of challenges to give back to their community. I will be doing the narrations, editing and even have some camera time of my own to talk about my project.
My mentor for this project is Melanie Zamorski. Her email is [email protected]. Mrs.Zamorski is guiding me through using the school equipment for editing and creating my documentary and finalizing my project as a whole to be published. I believe my learning stretch would be having to go up and ask people for interviews and pictures of their capstone cause I’m not a very social person. However I think the social part of the project and having to collaborate with different students will definitely help me get over my social anxiety and get me out of my comfort zone.
Sincerely,
Jenely
